News & InformationThe Napier University Conservative and Unionist Association, or NUCUA for short, is a political society affiliated to the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party -- the right-of-centre political party Membership recruitment is an on-going process. Regular communications via email, this website and mailings are an integral part of running the Association. The association which was originally formed in 1998 and is one of only 2 political societies at the University. Forming a link between Napier students and the Conservative party, we are arranging guest speaker meetings, involved in campaign work for the busy election programme this year (e.g. canvassing, leaflet deliveries, research/fact-finding), and co-organising various general political efforts and social events. 30/09/05 - Back from the summer break So we didn't win the election, still there's always next time. If the Freshers Fayre last Thursday was anything to go by last week the future is definitely looking good for the party after attracting more new members to the society.

16/04/05 - Campaigning in Fairmilehead On Saturday members of the team were out in force leafleting and speaking to voters in Fairmilehead. At one point there were at least 8 people in the area we were canvassing which left the single Liberal Democrat helper we met looking slightly glum at the sight of us. The day was ended by a get together of all the helpers back at the office to thank them for all the hard work that they've given in the last few months.
13/04/05 - Meeting with Gavin Brown Gavin Brown the Conservative candidate for Edinburgh South met members of the association for a question and answer session and a chat with how the campaign in the seat has been going.
