A buffet lunch was held at the Craiglockhart Tennis Centre hosted by the Edinburgh Pentlands Conservative Association and their parliamentry candidate, Sir Malcolm Rifkind. The Pentlands Constituency is home to Napier's Craighouse and Craiglockhart campuses. Speaking at the event, Mr. Portillo discussed how the Shadow Cabinet were looking forward to Malcolm Rifkind's return to Westminster should he be successful at the general election. He also discussed matters regarding the economy, highlighting the Conservative proposal to introduce tax free savings. Having only canvassed half of the constituency, Sir Malcolm Rifkind already has support from more people than he did in total at the 1997 election.
